One address, read by a person. Defects in the math get read first — every formula on this site is published precisely so it can be checked.
This is an independent, self-funded project rather than a support desk, so replies are not instant — expect a few days. Reports of an incorrect calculation are prioritized over everything else.
What to write about
Each of these opens a message with the subject already filled in, which is the whole reason to use them rather than a blank email.
A number looks wrong
The most useful message you can send. Every formula is published so it can be checked — if the output disagrees with your return or your own spreadsheet, that is worth knowing about.
Include the scenario link or the inputs you used, what the tool showed, and what you expected. Round the figures if you would rather not share the real ones — a reproducible case matters more than exact dollars.
Something is broken or unusable
A chart that will not render, a control you cannot reach with a keyboard, text that is unreadable at your zoom level, a page that breaks on your device.
Include your browser and version, your device, and what you were doing when it broke.
A rule changed, or a source is out of date
Brackets, poverty guidelines, and premium tax credit rules are all revised on their own schedules, and legislation moves them. A pointer to the superseding source is genuinely helpful.
Include a link to the official figure — an IRS revenue procedure, a Federal Register notice, or the equivalent.
Something to suggest
A case the model does not handle, a feature that would earn its complexity, or a guide that is missing. No promises on what ships, but suggestions do shape what gets built.
Tell me what decision you were trying to make and where the tool left you stuck. That is more useful than a feature name.
Before you send figures
A scenario link carries your inputs inside the URL, so sending one shares those numbers with whoever receives it — including me. That is often fine for a bug report, but it is your call. If the real figures are sensitive, reproduce the problem with rounded or invented numbers first; a case that reproduces at $500,000 is just as fixable as one at your actual balance. Theprivacy policy explains how share links work in more detail.
Please do not send account numbers, Social Security numbers, tax returns, or brokerage statements. Nothing about a bug report needs them, and email is not a secure channel for them.
What I cannot answer
Personal tax questions. Nobody here is a CPA, an enrolled agent, or a financial adviser, and no reply can tell you how much to convert, whether a conversion suits your situation, or what your actual tax bill will be. Those answers depend on your whole return, your state, and your plans — none of which this tool can see. A CPA or fee-only financial planner is the right destination, and the disclaimer sets out where the model stops.
I also do not take sponsored placements, guest posts, link exchanges, or affiliate arrangements. The about page explains why: there is nothing to sell here, which is what keeps the rankings and wording honest.
Other places to look first
- Methodology & sources — every formula the calculator uses, written out, with its statutory citation.
- Disclaimer — what the model deliberately leaves out, and why your actual return will differ.
- Common questions — the questions people most often arrive with, answered on the homepage.
- Terms & conditions andprivacy policy — the site's formal terms.
